The client, Upper Crust Bakery, moved to a new location and needs a new logo. The bakery is known for its fresh baked goods from recipes passed down through generations from their home country of France. For my logo, I wanted to symbolize the fact that the bakery takes pride in its French heritage as well as its fresh, local ingredients. To this end, I chose a Fleur de lis for the bakery’s mark. The Fleur de lis is a classic symbol for France that has been used for centuries. However, to incorporate the bakery aspect, I changed out the top part of the symbol for wheat stalks. In addition, to emphasize the bakery, the overall shape of the logo resembles a slice of bread.
